Manage roster patterns

Overview

This section provides a comprehensive guide on managing roster patterns within the RASP system. A roster pattern utilises a template work pattern created in the settings and allows it to be applied to schedule employee shifts based on that work pattern and from various start positions.

This flexibility ensures that different employees can have customized shifts generated based on specific settings applied when the work pattern is assigned. In this guide, you will learn how to assign a roster pattern to an employee and adjust the necessary details to tailor the scheduling according to organisational needs and employee preferences.

Add a Roster Pattern to an employee

1. Open the record of employee you want to assign to a roster pattern to.

2. Click "Edit"

3. Click "Assign" in the Roster Pattern section.

4. Select the work pattern to assign the employee to.

tip

The work patterns are managed in the Settings module.

5. Enter the details.
The roster selected will determine where the shifts are generated. The start and end dates determine the period over which shifts will be scheduled.
The remaining details, along with those set on the work pattern, will be set on the shifts that are generated.

tip
The fields that are visible below the "Roster" dropdown depend on fields which are set on the template work pattern managed in settings.
Only teams and roles that are available on the roster and that the employee has assigned in their work details will be available to select.
Only fields that aren't set on the work pattern can be set when the work pattern is assigned.
If no end date is set shifts will automatically generate 12 months in advance.

6. Select the "Start Point". This is the point on the work pattern at which the employees shifts generation will start on the "Start" set above.

7. Click "Save"

8. Click "Save"

9. The shifts will take a few moments to generate.

10. When the shift generation has completed the table will update.

11. You can now view the shifts on the roster.
